Sometimes, they keep Katie busy into the night, making it difficult to occupy Suri. "My daughter was with me the other day at a work event and it was a long day," Katie explains to the magazine. "I took out some paper and markers that I had in my bag, and someone said to me, 'Oh, that is so cute,' and I looked at her and thought, 'No, this is not cute. This is what all mothers have to do.'"“Because you have to. As an actress who is also a mother, you don’t have the luxury of drama.”

ケイテイ撮影やデザインの仕事で忙しく夜中になることも。こうなるとスリに時間を割くことも難しいみたい。


スリも一緒で、仕事で長い一日だったとき、バックから色鉛筆や画用紙を取り出したら誰かが「まぁ、かわいい」って言ってくれたんだけど、「全然かわいくないし」って思ったの。これは母親の仕事だからよ。
仕事と生活のバランスについては、
「やんなきゃいけないのよ、女優でもあり母親でもある以上ドラマみたいな優雅な生活を送れるわけじゃないわ」
"Being around this business, my daughter is exposed to people with incredible talent, people who are the best at what they do. People I only dreamed of getting to work with as a little girl," she says.
また、スリがどんどん注目を浴びてることについては「この世界にずっといるから、スリもそういう才能ある人々と接触することも多いわ。私が小さい頃から一緒に働きたいと思っていたような人たちとね。」
